The photography of Eddie Ostrowsky seems like a never ending artistic experiment with the nude female as his subject and the photographic possibilities as his playground. When the location and the model are arranged, the artistic process of the photographer begins.
Often there are certain ideas in front of the shoot but it’s the tension between the nude model and the photographer that’s defining the artistic direction at that time.
The artistic process
Somehow Eddie Ostrowsky is capable of getting this tension, this moment of creation itself on film besides of course the nice nude women :-). He is also experimenting a lot with light in his photography. Sometimes he uses colored light to get a sensual atmosphere or he uses very bright white light so only the contours of the model remain. Some may find the photos that are the result of his working process a bit unpolished, but for me it’s one of the strongest aspects in his work. Just because as I mentioned before it makes us part of the artistic process.
My favorite is the one of the nude woman holding her breasts photographed from above. The composition of this image is just marvelous and the blending red and orange color are giving it a very intense feeling.
