Santillo uses the blurriness caused by the movement of the models in a marvelous way. It gives the suggestion of movement, looking at the sex taking place, but it also softens the explicitness a bit, giving it a more sensual appearance. The monotone coloring of the images is functional in two ways in my opinion. It makes the models blend together and it takes away the spotlight on the genitalia, with their otherwise contrasting coloring. This way you have a more overall impression on the couples having sex.
An other part of his work are the solo models, or maybe a better description would be artistic nudes. Sometimes with the same techniques as in his couples series, but they are more glamorous overall. With some fetish influences here and there.
A good photographer this William Santillo with a great eye for sensuality and atmosphere combined with a personal usage of the photographic techniques.
