Sure we have seen lot’s of fetish pictures, a little bit of S&M and glamor photography before. But in the work of Jean Paul Four it is combined in such a way that it becomes one integrated theme.
What is remarkable about his work is the ability to play whit suggestive attributes and surroundings. Thinks like candles and leather stuff are often used in the usual sexual pictures, but here they are used to suggest experiences or fantasies, not to put them somewhere and produce the usual stuff.
He also plays with domination. I think the picture of the officer and the blindfolded girl is a nice twist to this theme. You don’t know who is in charge here. It’s up to you to decide. I personally like this open approach of the artist. Give some directions, but not all.
